Golden Agendas was personally designed, built, and guided by me from concept into a full working app. I built it while semi-retired, working just two days a week in my professional field, because I believed there had to be a better way for seniors to stay on schedule.

The missed appointment

The idea started the day I missed an important doctor's appointment. Not only did I miss it — the physician's office charged me a $75 no-show fee. They say "necessity is the mother of invention," and that incident put the idea in motion. Once it was in motion, I sat down and brainstormed the other ways an app like this could help seniors stay independent, safe, and organized. With Golden Agendas, the first thing I do each morning is sign in to the app and simply tap “Hear My Briefing” — it greets me by name, and verbally announces the weather, my schedule, and my medications, so I know my day is on track.

Built by a senior, for seniors

I have arthritis in my hands, which makes typing on small screens genuinely difficult. The advancement of voice-to-text technology was a turning point — it let me, and anyone like me, simply speak instead of type. On top of that, I take seven medications a day and wanted a reliable way to organize and schedule them. Golden Agendas has been a tremendous help with both, and I built it to do the same for others.

The caregiver option

The last important piece was the caregiver option. My wife and I were caregivers for her father for two years before his passing. I saw firsthand how difficult it was for him to keep his medications organized, and how constantly she worked to make sure he took his meds on time. So we built in the caregiver option — it helps not only the person taking the medications, but the caregiver who's keeping watch, too.

These became the foundation and the main inspiration for Golden Agendas.
